The Pop Up latrine (Evenzip) will serve beneficiaries by providing privacy and security as they recover from disaster
The pop up latrine was designed with immediate responses to emergency situations in mind. Therefore speed of construction was an important factor in the design brief.
Each pop up cubicle can be supplied with one Squatting plate. Transport is made easy as it comes as a flat-pack and is easily erected on site by one person. Designed around our squatting plate, the structure screws directly on to the squatting plate giving structural integrity. Due to this, there is no need for guide ropes which may go missing in a camp environment, although we can supply these if required. Constructed with aluminium tubing, the push-fit sections form the superstructure, fixed to the squatting plate with a few nuts and fasteners.
The canopy is water resistant, rot proof, chlorine inert, non-transparent and UV resistant to 80+. The canopy fabric is also designed to withstand a stretching force of 15 pounds/ inch in all directions. The canopy is then placed over the superstructure and secured with internal ties. Ventilation is provided at the upper back end by a mesh netting. An internal locking zip provides users with added security and dignity.
